Vermont MS Rides 2004
The rides, which may be 40, 75, or 100 miles each day, will start and end at Castleton State College (CSC) Saturday, 7 August, and Sunday, 8 August.
Similarly to last year, the Chain-Wringers team will augment the activities organized by the MS Society.
There will be a sit-down dinner Friday evening, 6 August, at the South Station restaurant at Trolley Square in Rutland, providing an opportunity for team members to make plans for doing the rides together.
It was such a big hit last year that there will again be an open bar and hors d'oeuvres before dinner.
This year Andy Bishop has graciously consented to be our guest speaker after dinner.
Andy was a professional cyclist for 13 years with over 110 career victories and was on nine World Championship teams as a rider. He also rode in the Tour de France four times.
In addition to the dinner, our sponsors will once again provide bike jerseys, which I know were a huge hit with all the ChainWringers, as well as with the other participants in the rides.
The dorms at CSC will be open Friday night and Saturday nights; I've also reserved a block of air-conditioned rooms at the Comfort Inn, next to the South Station restaurant, for a discounted rate of $72/night versus $20/night at CSC.
The Comfort Inn number is 802-775-2200; mention that you are with the ChainWringers.
The registration fee before 30 April is $45, eventually increasing to $50.
